Well, Imaging USA is over, but because of the freak ice storm all over Texas, I’m stranded in San Antonio! Luckily, PPA decided to pay for an extra night of hotels so everyone could stay safe and warm and not try to brave the roads. I love PPA!! There is no greater organization of photographers in the world. The willingness of PPA members, especially their Board of Directors and staff, to work so hard to help other photographers is just unreal. I love nice people, and they are the nicest!
So myself and my two roommates Jennifer and Jennifer decided to make the most of our snow day,a nd we ventured out into downtown San Antonio to see a super cool 3D IMAX movie (my very first 3D movie.. That was the neatest thing I have EVER seen!) and check out one of my favorite places in the world, the Alamo! We also took a very photos of the crazy weather:
cool Alamo cactus:

icicles! we never get these!

random strangers posing at the ALAMO!!

Tomorrow I will head back home to Dallas – wish me luck!!
Howdy from the very cold and rainy, but very beautiful city of San Antonio, TX! I am here for the Professional Photographers of America annual national conference! Here I am taking classes from some of America’s best and most talented photographers, trying to improve my craft and improve my business. I think it is SO, SO, SO important to always keep learning and challenging myself to become better, so I attend every single class and workshop and seminer and conference that I can. There’s also a huge tradeshow here with the newest cutting edge products, including some really great new album styles and printing types (there’s a new Pearl paper that makes all photos printed on it look like they have glitter in them.. Very sparkly and romantic and cool!). I can’t wait to come home and completely reinvigorate my business. I will let you guys know all of my great ideas after the conference is over. Get excited for learning!
I am back from San Diego, and boy did I have fun! I’m not so happy about the outcome of the game – we Aggies like to say that our teams never lose, they just run out of time. Unfortunately, we ran out of time in about the second quarter
To make matters worse, because of the terrible weather in Dallas I got stuck in the Denver airport, and with a blizzard coming in the next day, I basically had a choice between waiting for a late night flight or getting stuck there for probably a week!! Luckily I got out safely, and now I am tucked back in my warm Texas home.
I’m really proud and excited to have Mary & Jon’s wedding photos finished! As I mentioned before, this wedding at the Galvez was a gorgeous one. The Galvez is hands down the most scenic and beautiful hotel I have ever been to, and the wedding was so much fun! My favorite moment was when Jon – a big Arkansas Razorbacks fan, and not so much fond of Mary and my Texas Aggies - pulled off Mary’s beautiful Texas A&M garter. His face was priceless!
Here are a few shots of their amazing day:
