Sometimes Jason and I are perfect for each other in all the wrong ways. Take, for example, our conversation last night..
Me: “I can’t wait for you to open your Christmas present, it is so awesome”
Him: “Yeah? So is yours!”
Me: “Let’s open presents now!”
Him: “You want to?”
Me: “Well, I was kinda just kidding.. Do YOU want to?”
Him: “Let’s do it!”
Me: “Then what will we do on Christmas morning?”
Him: “Sleep in.”
Me: “I’m sold, let’s go.”
Keep in mind that I have a bad habit of sneaking a peek at my presents when no one is at home, so he (wisely) had kept my gift at his office. We actually got dressed, got in the car, drove 15 miles to his office and 15 miles back, just so we could ruin Christmas for ourselves!! We’re terrible!!!
We had been taunting each other about our gifts for weeks now.. We had been giving each other hints (I later learned some of his were completely made up to throw me off, that punk!), so before we opened our presents, Jason suggested we each write down what we thought the other person got us..
And now for my gift……

EEEEEEEE!! A Coach Carly Signature handbag!!!! WOOHOO!!
And Jason’s present….

An 8GB iPod Touch!! I know, I am pretty much the best girlfriend ever.
Let me just say we are both pretty ridiculously happy with our gifts.
And what did we guess we were going to get?
Drumroll please…..

Priceless!!!! We thought we were so tricky, but apparently we know each other a little too well, haha!
Just in case any of you out there are just dying to get me a Christmas present (or a birthday present.. My birthday is Monday!), here is my own personal list:
-A portable GPS with text-to-speech (This is the one the Best Buy dude recommended, but I am soooooo not picky)
-Canon G9 camera
-Chanel J12 Joaillerie H1633 watch
-A destination wedding in Italy, France, Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, Ireland, India, or any other gorgeous overseas location ![]()
-A new 16′ strand of pearls!! My favorite strand went missing earlier this year
I love these and these (in white) and these
-A birthday party with all of these people: Mom, Candy, Jason, Britt, Corey, Jim, Drew, JPaup, Juls, Jena, everyone from Mist, and all my clients, past and present!
I hope you all get exactly what you want this Christmas
I first met Jacqi and Bryon at the Haute Wedding Fair back in October. We clicked as soon as I met Jacqi, with her bubbly personality and huge smile. In fact, we clicked so well that she booked us on the spot! I couldn’t be happier about it, and we’re so excited about their March wedding.
Jacqi and Bryon’s engagement session was exactly what an engagement session should be like – all about them! We shot the photos near White Rock Lake, an area that they have spent a lot of time at together, and they brought along lots of cool “props” to help show their personality through their photos. You’ll see what I mean!
You know I can’t pass up a playground!
And I DEFINITELY can’t pass up a slide (especially one that’s way too small for two grown people to slide down) ![]()
I love love LOOOVE when people bring their dogs along to photoshoots!! It definitely keeps things interesting!
Bryon sweeping Jacqi off her feet
I really liked this photo before, but after a little Photoshop magic, now I LOVE it!! It’s called “Super Old Skool”
How do I manage to get all the good looking clients? Seriously!
Laying down on the job…
All you need is hug… Hug is all you need ![]()
And of course it’s not enough that these guys are beautiful.. They’re also Ironman athletes. Give me a break!!
No, we aren’t showing off the new mist ‘m’ logo.. This is Jacqi’s nacklace and Bryon’s tattoo of the Ironman symbol. Very cool!
Okay, NOW do you see what I mean about props? This is brilliant! They are going to have thank you cards made to use after the wedding. Our clients are so smart ![]()
After a session like this, I can only imagine how fun Jacqi and Bryon’s wedding is going to be. I can’t wait!

Our little Sallie Mae has grown up… It seems like only yesterday we made the looooooong drive out to Justin, TX just to see if this tiny puppy from the blurred photo the breeder sent us was the “right” puppy for us. She could barely open her eyes and could only breathe with her tiny tongue poking out, and when she sat down her skin just pooled up around her legs. Now she never stops barking, running, licking, or growing!!
Just like all puppies, Sallie had a few “habits” we needed to break, so we started her in puppy classes at Petsmart a few months ago. Under the watchful eye of our AMAZING trainer, Cassandra York (best trainer in the world – anyone who has a dog and lives near the Petsmart in Plano should go find her ASAP!), Sallie has totally transformed. She is still fun and excitable and a licking machine, but now she is a machine who sits, stays, comes, shakes, lays down, rolls over, and watches.
Here’s a few shots of her graduation day!
Getting her cap on. Sallie HATES putting things around her neck.. we needed some seeeerious distraction to accomplish this!

Clearly very happy about wearing the cap

Penelope, another student and star pupil (and her brother Telluride, a GORGEOUS Huskie)

Sallie and her classmate Zeo ganging up on poor Penny

Showing off her rollover (which is more like a “flail wildly until you flop on the other side!” but hey, it’s progress!)

Finally at home, pooped from the big day!

We loved class and will miss all of our puppy and people classmates. Now if we can only get her housetrained!! Any suggestions on that would be much appreciated
Tonight Jason and I went to see the new movie “Juno” at the Shop at Legacy. We both loved the movie, it was absolutely hilarious! The only things we didn’t love about were 1) the humor was a bit forced sometimes.. It’s sort of like those WB shows, everyone talks fast and clever and witty, and you know no one actually talks like that, and 2) for awhile the move got very tense and uncomfortable, but I’m pretty sure it was intentional, that came at a point in the movie where things were falling apart, and I think the director did a great job of making you feel as conflicted and awkward as the movie’s characters were. We loved just about everything else about the movie though, it was very well made and entertaining. Jennifer Garner was fantastic, as always, and Ellen Page is fantastic! I can’t wait to see what movie she makes next!
Favorite line (Mark Long talking to a very pregnant Juno): “That t-shirt is really working hard.”
And I am keeping up with my resolution and brought the camera with me, so I took some photos of all the beautiful decorated trees at the Shops at Legacy.
