I went into Jesh de Rox’s workshop thinking that I would learn how to take great, romantic images, maybe learn some cool post processing, and get some great business advice from a talented person.
What I received was a life-changing experience from 13 very talented people that has shaken me to the core. Yes, I learned how to be a better photographer, but more importantly, I learned how to be a better person, and how to live and love from a “free space” that goes beyond labels, boundaries, and fear. I have so much excitement and passion bubbling up within me and I just want to shout it everywhere I go and tell everyone I see exactly what I feel right now, but for some reason, people generally aren’t fond of strangers running up and yelling “I know what the meaning of life is!” – I can’t imagine why
Jesh has reminded me of the reason I became a wedding photographer in the first place. It is about so much more than the images. Being a wedding photographer allows me to totally immerse myself in two people who are truly, madly, deeply in love, and who are surrounded by people celebrating the start of their new, long, glorious life together. It is like being a third wheel, but in a wonderful, enjoyable way. When I have a couple alone, and it is just the three of us, I see the most amazing connections, the most intense and almost tangible love that most people think only exists in the movies. But it doesn’t, it exists in real life, every day, in regular people, and it is a breathtaking thing to see.
I have the greatest job in the entire world, hands down. I defy anyone to tell me whose job could possibly be better than mine. It’s just not possible!
To all my clients, I am so honored and blessed that you have chosen to let me experience your love, and I am better for it.
I also want to publicly thank all of the other workshop attendees, who truly made it a once in a lifetime experience: Jesh, Susan, Melanie, Kym, Kelly, Lauren, Jeremy, Hans, Julie, Paige, Kate, and Anahi. I am so much better for knowing you all.
